Communication Sciences & Disorders - Speech-Language Pathology (ASLP), BA/MS


The accelerated track makes it possible for qualified students to complete both a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences & Disorders and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in five years. Students will declare CSD clinical track as their undergraduate major, complete liberal arts credits and prerequisites during their first three years, and finish graduate school in years four and five. The department will notify the Registrar’s Office when a student is approved for the accelerated track.

Acceptance into the Speech-Language Pathology master’s program involves a secondary application process (CSDCAS). Students enrolled in the accelerated track who are not accepted into the MS SLP program will transition into the traditional route; completing a Bachelor of Arts in  during their fourth year.

The traditional track is generally required for the following:

  • Students competing in university athletics
  • All transfer students
  • All students changing their major to Communication Sciences & Disorders

Students may qualify for the accelerated dual-degree track by meeting the following requirements:

  1. Earn a grade of A in , , and .
  2. Have an overall GPA of 3.8 or above at the end of the first year at Harding.

Once the requirements are met, students may be added to the accelerated track. Students must maintain a 3.8 overall GPA and earn a grade of A in  and  to remain on the accelerated track.

Requirements


Liberal Arts: 32 hours


All majors at Harding are required to complete the 47-hour  program. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of major:

  • 9 hours of Inquiry, Investigation, and Reasoning are satisfied in the major.
  •  or  and   satisfy 6 hours of Self and Society.

Undergraduate Component: 57 hours


Remaining Graduate Component for MS-SLP: (32 Hours)
