NURS 4200 - Nursing Adults with Acute Health Concerns


This course prepares nursing students to provide acute nursing care to diverse adult patient populations, using a body system-based approach. Emphasizing critical thinking and clinical judgment, students will participate in simulations, case studies, and clinical experiences to enhance their ability to deliver high-quality, safe nursing care in acute care situations commonly encountered in dynamic healthcare environments. The course integrates communication strategies, ethical decision-making, and leadership skills, promoting a professional Christian servant approach to patient care. Students will use technology in acute care settings and apply the principles of stewardship in resource management, enabling them to excel as servant leaders. The course includes three lecture hours per week throughout the semester, along with 90 clinical hours.
