NURS 3630 - Pathophysiology for Nursing Practice


From a nursing perspective, learners discuss alterations to physiological well-being across the lifespan from national and global views as pathological responses to disease, stress, and environmental changes. Applying research findings and scientific knowledge, learners use critical thinking to analyze clinical nursing cases and patient outcomes. Leadership skill development is initiated through professional written communication, use of Christian principles, and a commitment to professional maturity. Three lecture hours per week. If it has been more than four years since the student has completed BIOL 2405/2405L, BIOL 2425/2425L, or BIOL 3210/3210L, contact course coordinator.

Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing; one of the following: BIOL 2400/2400L , BIOL 2420/2420L , or BIOL 3200/3200L ; one of the following: BIOL 2405/2405L , BIOL 2425/2425L , or BIOL 3210/3210L ; one of the following: CHEM 1010/1010L , CHEM 1020/1020L , or CHEM 1040/1040L  

This course must be taken prior to admission to the College of Nursing.
