SWK 3060 - Social Welfare Policy and Services II


The organizational and systematic process involved in social welfare policy formulation, implementation, and analysis. Specific policies that influence the areas of income maintenance, poverty, health care, housing, special populations, and service delivery. Transition of policy analysis and formulation into implementation with specific emphasis on the legislative, judicial, and administrative functions involved. Emphasis on the social work practitioner’s influence on the policy-making process.

Prerequisite(s): ECON 2010 , POLS 1787  (all may be taken concurrently)
