SWK 3050 - Social Welfare Policy and Services I


The history, development, and contemporary nature and structure of social welfare as a system. Values, philosophies, and ideological positions leading to the development of social welfare policy. Societal forces that influence current developing social policy, with particular emphasis on the relation of economic and political processes to social policy development. Analysis of social policies in view of their historical and ideological positions and responsiveness to individual and social needs.

Prerequisite(s): HIST 1010  or HIST 1020 , SWK 2750  (all may be taken concurrently)
