Music Major

The expected Program Learning Outcomes for this major are:

• Play simple musical scores or parts at the keyboard.
• Read music at the keyboard and on their primary instrument.
• Perform a variety of repertoire on their primary instrument with technical and interpretative skills.
• Use an understanding of common Western theory practices to compose, notate, and analyze music.
• Understand and think critically regarding significant genres, composers, and styles in Western music.
• Lead various types of ensembles in the performance of music.
