Social Work Major

The expected Program Learning Outcomes for this major are:

• Social work graduates will be prepared to engage in entry-level generalist social work practice consistent with a strengths-orientation and ecological perspective that demonstrates respect for diverse populations and cultures.
• Social work graduates will be prepared to use critical thinking skills in applying knowledge and ethical principles to social work practice and in using research to inform, critically evaluate and improve practice, programs, and service delivery systems.
• Students will be prepared to use human behavior conceptual frameworks to understand development and behavior across the life span and to support intervention at multiple levels including individuals, families, groups, organizations, communities, and global systems.
