Secondary Education, (Licensure)

Students pursuing K-12 or 7-12 education programs must complete one of the appropriate academic majors which are listed in their home college.

Requirements

To receive an endorsement for K-12 in any of the following areas, the student must complete the appropriate academic major:

• Art: Art Education Major (AEDU), BA  
• Foreign Language: French Education Major (FRE), BA , Spanish Education Major (SPE), BA  
• Kinesiology/Health/Coaching: Kinesiology and Health Education K-12 Major (KNED), BS  
• Music Vocal: Music Education - Vocal Major (VMED), BME  
• Music Instrumental: Music Education - Instrumental Major (IMED), BME   

To receive an endorsement for 7-12 in any of the following areas, the student must complete the appropriate academic major:

• Drama/Speech: Drama/Speech Education Major (DSED), BA  
• English/Language Arts: English and Education Major (ENED), BA  
• Family and Consumer Sciences: Family and Consumer Sciences Education Major (FCED), BS    
• Mathematics: Mathematics Education Major (MAED), BA  
• Social Studies: Social Science Education Major (SOED), BA  
• Theatre: Theatre Education 7-12 Major (THED), BA  

Students seeking initial and additional licensure should consult the Cannon-Clary College of Education, Department of Teacher Preparation  catalog section and must meet current Arkansas licensure and Cannon-Clary College of Education requirements in that teaching field as announced by ADE.
