Students who hold an Arkansas teaching license may add this endorsement by satisfactorily completing the courses listed below. Check with the Arkansas Department of Education for licensure requirements.

Admission requirements for this endorsement are the same as the Master of Education in Special Education K-12 .

RDNG 6450 - English Language and Structure for Teachers Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6070 - Managing the Learning Environment for Students with Exceptionalities Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6210 - Characteristics of Students with Exceptionalities Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6220 - Assessment of the Learner with Exceptionalities Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6230 - Interdisciplinary Planning and Methods for Working with Students with Exceptionalities Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6260 - Foundations in Special Education K-12 Credit Hours: 3
SPED 6770 - Legal and Ethical Issues in Special Education Credit Hours: 3

*Note

Pre-requisite/Co-requisite Admission Requirement: SPED 6500 or successfully complete both phases of a proficiency pathway including the Arkansas Foundations of Reading Assessment.

Candidates seeking a Special Education K-12 endorsement must hold a teacher’s license.
