Liberal Arts: 41 Hours
All majors at Harding are required to complete the 47-hour Liberal Arts program. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major: - 3 hours of Aesthetics and the Creative Spirit are satisfied in the major.
- MUS 3240 satisfies 3 hours of Self and Society.
Applied Study: 10 Hours

Piano as the primary instrument note:
Students must complete 6 semesters of applied piano study at the 1020 and 3020 levels and complete 4 semesters of additional applied study on a different instrument or voice. Other primary instrument or voice note:
Students must complete 6 semesters of applied study at the 1020 and 3020 levels on one instrument or voice, and complete 4 semesters of applied piano study. Note(s):
- Students must take piano every semester for credit until they pass the Piano Proficiency Exam.
- Music major status requires a passing score of 80% or higher on the Theory Entrance Exam or MUS 1700 with a grade of B or higher; and satisfactory performance on the Theory, Keyboard, and Principle Applied Performance Evaluations.
- Music majors must participate in a primary ensemble and MUS 1400-1409 - Music Forum every semester.
- Enrollment in ensembles is not required for credit. If taken for credit, hours will be counted as electives.
Remaining Bible/Electives: 14 Hours
BMIN 3000 is required of all music majors, and satisfies the Bible requirement in the semester it is taken. See Bible Class Enrollment policy here . Electives must be chosen to meet the graduation requirement of 42 upper-level credits. |
