Department of Music


Mission

The mission of the Department of Music is to provide a quality education in music within a Christian environment.

Departmental goals are to:

  1. Prepare students for teaching careers and graduate study in music;
  2. Prepare students for a lifetime of musical participation, enjoyment, and understanding;
  3. Provide musical instruction and performance opportunities;
  4. Provide for the University community the enrichment afforded by musical experiences from a variety of styles and genres; and
  5. Prepare students for a well-rounded life in which vocations and Christian ethics are integrated.

Accreditation

The Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

The Performance Major contains curricular revisions that await NASM approval.
