Harding University’s Center for Leadership and Development in the Cannon-Clary College of Education is committed to offering students access to a life-changing academic experience by focusing on how to become more effective leaders in every area of life. Along with community-focused webinars and seminars, the Center for Leadership and Development offers the 30-credit hour, fully online Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL) degree as well as three graduate certificates in executive and workplace coaching, human resource management, and learning and development.
Organizational leadership is an interdisciplinary academic field of study focused on individual and team success. The daily life of a leader includes skills such as the ability to establish goals, develop and execute strategic plans, recruit teams, develop individuals, communicate effectively, and manage conflict. Organizational leadership is an ideal field of study for individuals who care deeply about people and systems and have a sincere desire to use their leadership abilities to make life better for others. Organizational leaders are needed in every business, community, church, nonprofit, and school.
The Center for Leadership and Development also offers a Minor in Leadership and Innovation, which can be paired with any major as an accelerated degree option for undergraduates. The minor in Leadership and Innovation is available to students from any academic department and can be used for an accelerated completion of the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. Students approved for this interdisciplinary minor will complete 6 hours of undergraduate coursework and 12 hours of graduate level coursework for a total of 18 hours. The graduate level coursework can be dually applied to the MAOL after a student graduates with his or her undergraduate degree.
