CY 5640 - Digital Forensics


This course provides an advanced study of digital forensic theory, methodology, and practice within criminal justice, corporate, and national security environments. The course equips students with the technical proficiency and legal understanding needed to conduct forensic examinations of digital evidence. Students will examine the full digital forensic lifecycle, including evidence identification, preservation, acquisition, analysis, documentation, and presentation. Emphasis is placed on maintaining evidentiary integrity, establishing proper chain of custody, and producing defensible findings suitable for legal proceedings or executive decision-making.
