NURS 3000 - Professional Nursing This introductory course provides the student with foundational knowledge of the art and science of nursing, skills (including soft skills), and basic nursing practice interventions. Students will incorporate principles from the sciences and humanities as they use their clinical reasoning and nursing judgment skills to plan evidence-based, patient-centered, holistic nursing care for adult patients experiencing disruptions in basic needs. Using a spirit of inquiry, a Christian-servant approach, and appropriate technology, students will provide safe, quality care in a compassionate and professional manner.
Submission of all current health, CPR, and TB documentation is required. A grade of C or higher is required to progress. Three lecture hours per week and six laboratory or clinical hours per week. Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website.
