ENG 3000 - Advanced Composition


This course focuses on principles and skills that guide the creation of expository and argumentative prose. Students will analyze style and develop effective rhetorical strategies for writing essays that address spiritual, aesthetic, intellectual, and political contexts. Course readings have included essays by George Orwell, Loren Eiseley, Joan Didion, Wendell Berry, Annie Dillard, Joseph Epstein, Shelby Steele, Barry Lopez, and Amy Tan.
