PT 8551 - Pediatric Physical Therapy Practice

Introduction to the modification of physical therapy examination, evaluation, and management for the special developmental needs of children with orthopedic or neuromuscular conditions. Includes consideration of the requirements for physical therapy practice in specialized settings such as neonatal intensive care, Birth to Three programs, and public schools. Screening for referral and physical therapy consultation in pediatrics will be included. Treatment approaches are integrated from various sources including motor control theory, neurodevelopmental treatment, sensory integration and applied research.
