NURS 4530 - Community Health Nursing

Research-based theories, concepts, ethical standards, and the nursing process are emphasized to promote critical thinking skills to provide holistic nursing care. A community/population focused nursing process is applied to community health concerns. In community settings, students use professional practice to assist clients, whether that is an individual, family, or a community with acute and chronic health concerns to restore, maintain, and promote health or attain optimum wellbeing. Responsibility and accountability for nursing care, collaboration, resource conservation and use, promotion of human flourishing, national and global concerns, and a commitment to a servant leadership lifestyle are foundational to effective clinical judgments and client outcomes. Three lecture hours and 45 clinical hours. This course is eligible for honors credit.
