NURS 3050 - Culture of Poverty


A contemporary cross-cultural multidisciplinary course focusing on holistic ministry with individuals, groups and communities experiencing poverty in urban/rural domestic and international settings. Emphasis is on human and community development to break the poverty cycle through application of health care and Christian principles. Includes a field experience commensurate with course objectives. (Open to all University students.) Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website. Courses numbered 3000 and above require the student to bring the laptop to class.

Credit Hours: 3
