NURS 2030/2030L - Health Assessment Using the nursing process, students learn to assess the patient’s physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions as a foundation to patient-centered nursing care. The skills of interviewing, documentation, inspection, percussion, palpation, and auscultation are refined to make clinical judgments and promote healthy patient outcomes. Skills are adjusted according to cultural differences and the patient’s developmental level. The course is required of students prior to admission into the nursing program. A grade of C or higher is required. Open to non-nursing students with prior approval. Two lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. Computer requirement: All students involved in the nursing program must have ready access to a laptop computer and designated software. Specific hardware and software requirements are posted on the Carr College of Nursing website.
