 Welcome to Harding School of Theology!
HST is a global community of Christian leaders committed to pursuing deeper faith in God and higher standards of ministry and scholarship. God is doing great things through HST, and I am glad that you are part of our community.
God is doing great things through our local students. Students in Memphis live in one of the best cities in the country for training Christian leaders. Our students minister in urban churches, suburban churches, rural churches, and churches that worship in languages other than English. They read Luke’s gospel with foreign graduate students at Soma, a campus ministry at the University of Memphis. They serve as faith encouragers for the incarcerated with HopeWorks, and walk alongside neighbors living in at-risk communities with Agape. They teach Bible classes at Harding Academy. This is just a sample of the many ways local students serve in Memphis, all while receiving a quality graduate education at HST.
God is doing great things through our distance students. We have students from throughout the U.S. and the world who are deeply engaged in ministry in a variety of contexts. We have second-career students who are preparing to transition into full-time ministry, or who simply want to be better leaders in their churches. Our LIVE classes allow us to offer quality distance education and create a global learning environment for all of our students.
God is doing great things through our graduates. Since 1959, HST has graduated over 1700 students who live in 47 states and 20 foreign countries, including every continent except Antarctica. They are engaged in preaching ministry, youth and family ministry, campus ministry, hospital and military chaplaincy, counseling, foreign mission work, church planting, higher education, doctoral studies, and more. As an HST student, you are part of a large network of Christian leaders.
