All majors at Harding are required to complete 53 hours of Liberal Arts studies. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:
or FR 3250 - Regional Language and Culture Credit Hours: 3
(must be taken for 2 credit hours to meet program requirements)
or FR 1030 - Accelerated Elementary French I Credit Hours: 3
or FR 1040 - Accelerated Elementary French II Credit Hours: 3
At least 20 of the 32 hours must be upper-level, of which at least 8 hours must be 4000 level. FLAN 4100 and FLAN 4200 are also required.
During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule an official telephonic oral proficiency interview. The target rating is Advanced Low.
Students seeking teaching licensure must follow eligibility criteria for admission and retention listed in the Cannon-Clary College of Education section of the undergraduate catalog.
