History Minor - Accelerated MA

This accelerated minor in History is available to students outside of the Department of History & Political Science who wish to begin taking courses toward a Master of Arts in History during their senior year of undergraduate study. To be accepted for this minor, students must have a 3.25 GPA.
Applicants must submit:
- Three letters of recommendation (at least one from someone familiar with your academic work)
- CV or resume
- Statement of purpose (500-1000 words) describing your qualifications and long-term goals
- One writing sample (Maximum of 25 pages) demonstrating analytic power and clarity of expression
After completing 90 hours of their program with a 3.25 GPA, students may take up to 12 hours of approved 5000-level graduate history classes to fulfill their undergraduate requirements. This may be done by taking dual-credit 5000-level courses. In addition to 12 dual-credit hours, the M.A. requires completion of an additional 18 graduate hours, including the 9-hour M.A. core, for a total of 30 hours.
Undergraduate coursework will be completed on campus at Harding University during traditional semesters. Graduate coursework will be completed online or with on-ground dual-listed courses.

Choose 18 Hours from any HIST course
At least 6 hours must be upper-level, and students may take up to 12 hours of 5000 or higher HIST courses.
Note(s):
With permission from the History and Political Science Chair, up to 6 hours may be substituted with approved courses. |
