Superintendent Endorsement (GR)

Candidates who hold an Arkansas principal license with one year of licensed experience as a principal may add this endorsement by satisfactorily completing the 24 hours of Superintendent Endorsement courses listed below, orally defending a professional portfolio, and passing the School Superintendent Assessment (SSA) approved by the Arkansas Department of Education. Admission requirements for this endorsement are the same as the Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership (Superintendent) .

EDFD 6470 - Data-Informed Evaluation for School Improvement Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7390 - Human Resources Administration in Education Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7690 - School Finance for the Superintendent Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7700 - School Plant and Facilities Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7730 - The Superintendency and School Board Relations Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7740 - Advanced Leadership and Supervision Credit Hours: 3
EDL 7750 - Superintendent Internship Credit Hours: 0, 3

Electives (3 hours):

This course must be approved by the program director. It is strongly recommended that EDFD 6520 - Research Methods be used as the elective course if a recent research course has not been taken. Any courses that were taken as part of another degree cannot be counted toward the superintendent endorsement’s program of study.
