This accelerated minor in History is available to students outside of the Department of History & Political Science who wish to begin taking courses toward a Master of Arts in History during their senior year of undergraduate study. To be accepted for this minor, students must have a 3.25 GPA.

Applicants must submit:

  • CV or resume
  • Statement of purpose (500-1000 words) describing your qualifications and long-term goals
  • One writing sample (Maximum of 25 pages) demonstrating analytic power and clarity of expression

After completing 90 hours of their program with a 3.25 GPA, students may take up to 12 hours of approved 5000-level graduate history classes to fulfill their undergraduate requirements. This may be done by taking dual-credit 5000-level courses. In addition to 12 dual-credit hours, the M.A. requires completion of an additional 18 graduate hours, including the 9-hour M.A. core, for a total of 30 hours.

Undergraduate coursework will be completed on campus at Harding University during traditional semesters. Graduate coursework will be completed online or with on-ground dual-listed courses.
