PHA 8200 - Advanced Community IThis required advanced pharmacy practice experience is designed to expose the student to a variety of patient-oriented services in community practice. These services may include: (1) patient counseling on appropriate drug use, home diagnostic test kits, durable medical equipment; (2) monitoring therapy for safety and efficacy; (3) providing drug information to physicians and nurses; (4) participating in the design, development, marketing and reimbursement process for new patient services; and (5) medication therapy management. This experience is designed to give the student further experience in documenting pharmacy care interventions in community pharmacy practice. Additionally, the student may gain experience in the dispensatory functions of a pharmacist in a community setting. Credit Hours: 4 Term Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer |
