PHA 7630 - Exploring Health Disparities


The purpose of this course is to expose students to the current state of health and healthcare in the US and abroad with a focus on the disparities in healthcare that are present in underserved minority and rural populations. Students will become familiar with national trends regarding health improvement of its citizens and will explore the etiologies, statistics, and implications of such trends. Students will build upon service learning and volunteerism in this elective and participate in a service(s) that target(s) underserved populations.
