PHS 117 - Physical Science for Educators


An introduction to basic concepts of physics and chemistry for prospective K-8 teachers. Emphasis will be on how measurements are used to determine the relationships between variables that might be used to describe the properties, behavior, and changes that occur in matter. These relationships will then be used to develop explanatory models of chemistry and physics. 3 hours lecture; 3 hours of laboratory per week. This class may make use of the testing center and/or may give exams outside of regularly scheduled class hours.
