PT 8241 - Physiology of Therapeutic Exercise


This course will be lecture and lab based, exploring the principles guiding therapeutic exercise prescription by the physical therapist. the course is designed to provide students a solid scientific basis of normal physiological responses to acute and chronic exercise training. Topics will include metabolism, aerobic and anaerobic work, and muscle phenomena of strength, endurance and fatigue. It will also concentrate on developing skills of prescription in therapeutic exercise for specific body regions. the course will also have special emphasis on health and wellness of the general population.
