PHA 850 - Patient Care ElectiveThis required/elective advanced pharmacy practice experience will provide the student with the opportunity to participate in one of several patient care specialties and develop skills necessary for the management of one or more specific patient populations. Students are required to have one exposure in an institutional setting including, but not limited to: Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Inpatient/Acute General Medicine, Medication Reconciliation, Nutrition Support, Pharmacokinetics, Psychiatry/Substance Abuse. In addition to the institutional requirement, students may choose additional electives from the above settings or other patient care specialties, such as: Ambulatory Care, Hematology/Oncology, Home Health Care, Geriatric, Hospice, Indian Health Service, Long Term Care, Military Pharmacy, Medication Therapy Management, Nuclear, Pediatric, Veterinary. Four hours required. May be repeated up to 12 hours. Credit Hours: 4 Term Offered: Parts of term; all year |
