Management Major


The expected Program Learning Outcomes for this major are:

  • Management graduates will be able to:
    • demonstrate an understanding of key human resource management concepts and principles.
    • knowledge, understanding, and application of applied management skills relative to concentration of choice.
    • explain the impact of human resource management on organization culture.
    • generate basic project management deliverables and collaborate on a group project.
    • identify and discuss the distinguishing characteristics of the various forms of property ownership.
    • identify the elements of a contract, including contractual intent, offer, acceptance, consideration, contractual capacity, and legality.
    • present material from a real life project through a project management perspective.
  • Management graduates will demonstrate:
    • an understanding of operational management concepts and principles (MGT 3540, Core).
    • an understanding of key management principles and concepts.
    • effective oral communications skills.
    • the ability to identify the legal principles and regulations that they may face in the business arena.
    • the ability to recognize and evaluate ethical problems and dilemmas.
    • the ability to recognize the potential legal problems associated with the various actions or promises that occur during the conduct of business and personal life (BUS 3150).
    • the ability to solve business problems using quantitative and technology-enhanced approaches.
  • Management graduates will:
    • effectively communicate and demonstrate the major concepts of accounting, finance/economics, marketing, information systems, management and ethics.
    • demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts and terminology of project management including Agile/Scrum.
    • demonstrate an understanding of the overall purpose and role of human resource management.
