Physician Assistant Studies (PA), MS


Degree Requirements

In order to complete the Physician Assistant Program and graduate, a student must register for and pass each course set forth in the program’s curriculum outline and pass the didactic and clinical phase summative evaluations. Normal progression is sequential enrollment in all program courses each semester beginning in fall 1 and successfully meeting all course and program outcomes each term.

In addition, a student must be in good academic standing after completing the outlined curriculum and summative evaluations. To remain in good standing for the University, the PA student must meet the University requirements regarding good academic standing at the graduate level and the following requirements from the physician assistant program:

  1. Compliance with all PA Program policies on professionalism and demonstrate professional conduct.
  2. Show evidence of effective interpersonal relations with peers, faculty, preceptors and their staff, and patients.
  3. Earn a minimum of a “C” grade in all PAS non-supervised clinical practice experience (SCPE) courses in both the didactic and clinical phases.
  4. Earn a minimum of a “B” grade in all PAS supervised clinical practice experience (SCPE) courses.
  5. Maintain a current semester and cumulative GPA of 2.80 or higher in the didactic phase.
  6. Successfully complete the didactic and clinical phase summative evaluations.
  7. Complete all reporting requirements in the clinical phase as per the clinical phase handbook.
  8. Meet no other criteria requiring the student to be placed on academic probation.
