Requirements


Liberal Arts: 41 Hours


All majors at Harding are required to complete the 47-hour Liberal Arts  program. The following Liberal Arts requirements are met within the content of the major:

  • EDFD 2030  and a modern foreign language satisfy 6 hours of Self and Society.

Additional Requirement:

  • MATH 1200  or higher is required to satisfy 3 hours of Inquiry, Investigation, and Reasoning in accordance with the Liberal Arts policy.

Major: 33 Hours


Required hours include 21 upper-level hours, of which at least 9 must be 4000-level. Included in the 33 hours Spanish majors must complete at least one course including content from Spain (SPAN 3040 SPAN 4010 SPAN 4020 SPAN 4050 ) and one from Latin American content (SPAN 3150 SPAN 3250 SPAN 4110 ).

During the semester prior to student teaching, licensure candidates must schedule an official telephonic oral proficiency interview. The target rating is Advanced Low.

Minor: 18 Hours


Remaining Bible/Electives: 4 Hours


EDFD 4400 , counted above in the major, satisfies the Bible Enrollment requirement in the semester it is taken. Bible is not required during the supervised teaching semester.
